What is a switchable wattage bulkhead and why is it useful?

A switchable wattage bulkhead is a surface-mounted luminaire that lets the installer select the power output at the point of installation, rather than buying multiple SKUs for different lumen levels. The Nexus offers three wattage settings (9W, 12W and 16W) and four colour temperatures (3000K, 4000K, 5000K and 6000K), so a single product covers a wide range of project requirements and reduces stockholding for contractors and wholesalers.

Where can the Nexus bulkhead be installed?

With an IP65 rating against dust and water ingress and an IK10 impact resistance rating, the Nexus is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. It is commonly specified for communal corridors, stairwells, external walls, car parks, porches, plant rooms and other utility spaces where robust performance is needed. The circular surface-mounted design keeps installation simple on solid or plasterboard substrates.

Does the Nexus support sensors and emergency operation?

Yes. The Your Lights Nexus is available with an integrated microwave sensor for presence detection, and an integrated emergency module that is easily switchable between self-test and manual test. Both options are factory-fitted to order, making the Nexus suitable for circulation areas and life-safety applications such as stairwells and escape routes where compliance with Part B fire safety regulations is required.
